I'm not sure if any of our incoming freshmen will start next year, but a good deal of them will see PT. I can see TJ Williams, Ricky Sapp, Jamie Cumbie, JoJo Cox, and possibly one of the DB's avoiding a red-shirt. If we can manage to pick up CJ Spiller, he will play.

Sapp ought to get a good bit of playing time, because we always sub alot on the d-line, im sure some of the DB's we got will play some as well, I bet we end up redshirting Cumbie, too much depth at that position, it also depends on whether or not Adams goes to the NFL.

To start with Will Korn will be in next years recruiting class not this years. As for who I think will have the biggest impact, Crezdon Butler. I've watched some videos of him on Scout.com, and he is definately the most athletic player I've seen. He recently won the North Carolina State Championship by passing for a TD and intercepting a pass to seal the game. He is also got some of the nastiest moves I've ever seen and will be a big threat on kick/punt returns if he plays there.

Unless Butler make a HUGE impact in the Summer workouts, I ay he red-shirts....He'll be behind Gilliam, Coleman, Lewis, McElrathby, and Chancellor

It doesn't matter who red-shirts to me, this is one hell of a group of DB's:

Mike Hamlin
Chris Clemmons
CJ Gaddis
Sadat Chambers
Chris Chancellor
Demerick Chancellor
Haydrian Lewis
Ray Ray McElrathby
Sergio Gilliam
Duane Coleman (Maybe)
Crezdon Butler
Byron Maxwell
Deandre McDaniel
Darius Gaither

Oh definately, but the freshman is who I want to see, because our DB's seemed to hold our defense back this year.

hmm very tough question. I'd have to say right now with the commits in hand Sapp has the most realistic chance of starting. I think we will pick up 1 or 2 good WRs by the end of recruting which could eventually start.

I dont think Sapp has a real chance of starting unless Adams goes to the NFL, if he stays you have to have him and Phillip Merling as the starters, if not we might see alot of Sapp

No way he goes in the first this year, so plan to see him wearing orange again.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. But ya never know. I still think he has too much growing to do before the start of his professional career.

I still think it's a little too early to be counting our chickens before they hatch. As I recall we got several GOOD players who chose to sign last year at the last minute. It LOOKS like we've got an awesome class this year and next coming up, but I"ll hold off on guessing which player will be the impact player next year.

It never hurts to guess. It's all in good fun and I don't think your guess will really affect what happens.

Yeah, we need somethin to talk about, lol. I really hope that we can keep this recruiting up, if we keep getting kids like Sapp then we will be a force to be reckoned with.

Tough question...Lot's of 'if's' and 'but's'.
-IF everyone stays firm, Sapp would have a great shot at atleast giving Merling a run for the starting position oppositte Gaines.
-BUT...Merling has looked awesome and he has a year under his belt already. Tough to say that a HS kid can come in and take the starting position so quickly(although JD did that at tail back).
-IF we get either Spiller or Simms, they will play. I really want Simms. He is an incredible athlete and has some power to him unlike Spiller(IMO).
-Cumbie may have to redshirt
-Butler and Maxwell could avoid a redshirt as could Gaither.
-TJ Williams will NOT redshirt and he reminds me a bit of Currie in his speed. He may not be as fast, but he is VERY fast and will be our deep threat for years to come.

All I know is that this is already one helluva recruiting class and we are bound to get a few more guys. Who knows in the end, but no harm in guessing.

Sapp will not challenge Merling, because Sapp will be a bandit end, so he will be backing up Gaines.

Oh okay, thanks man. He will still see some PT at bandit. He will probably crack the 2 deep at that position. Who knows?...

I've heard that Will Korn will play football through fall of his senior year, graduate in December, and go through Spring practice w/ the team. He could possibly start the '07 season. As for Ray Ray McElrathby, he is an amazing athlete, I've watched him play pickup football on Bowman field. He's fast! And I didn't know, but he can also throw the ball, he's got a cannon for an arm!

There is a lot more to becoming a QB than being able to throw the ball far as you already know. Yes, you are correct, Will Korn will graduate next December and come to Clemson.

Yeah, I was just stating the fact. If he had talent at that position I'm sure we would have already been molding him.

Jacoby Ford commits! Huge pick-up for the staff. This kid has been clocked in at 4.12 in the 40 before. Great news.

I dunno about that 4.19 40 time, but needless to say, he's FAST and a great pickup!
